The mound lies west-northwest of Amasya; southwest of Gümüshaciköy; 700 m northeast of Hamamözü Bucagi; 200 m east of Kizilcaören Stream. It was discovered by M. Özsait in 1988. EBA sherds are abundant. According to Özsait; some ceramics with common characteristics may be from Chalcolithic Age. Therefore; Hamamözü is one of the debatable sites for the Chalcolithic Age. |
