It is located 8 km south of Hankendi Beldesi; about 1 km east of Akçakale Village in Merkez District of Elazig Province. The settlement appears in the Elazig Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Elazig Province Culture and Tourism Directorship in 2009. It appears as Kurt Tepe on the map. Extending in a wide area, the mound has two summits. The wall and foundation remains were seen in the illicit digging pits. The collected sherds from the surface show that the mound was occupied during various periods. It is believed that the occupation continued until Chalcolithic. The settlement was first identified by The Elazig Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism during an investigation on an illicit dig and since then it has been registered on The Elazig Cultural Inventory.
