It is located 3-4 km north of Baskil-Elazig motorway; 12 km northeast of Baskil District of Elazig Province. The settlement appears in the Elazig Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Elazig Province Culture and Tourism Directorship in 2009. The castle measures 70x100 m and locates on a steep limestone rock. The stepped tunnel and cistern carved into rock; which are exclusive to Urartians; are the interesting features of the castle. Although the site was mostly occupied during Middle Age, it has a few Roman remains. Except from the foundations of the fortification wall which was carved into rock and cisterns on its southern skirts, no traces of Urartian architecture were found. All the IA wares collected from the surface are wheel made. They are generally sand and chaff tempered. These low fired wares have thick coating. The bowls are carinated and some of them bear horizontal channel decoration on the section between their shoulder and rim.
