| It is located at Künk Mevkii in Kutlu Beldesi in Merkez District of Aksaray Province. The settlement appears in the Aksaray Culture Inventory which was achieved after the surveys organized by the Aksaray Province Culture and Tourism Directorship in 2009. It is 400 m from east to west and 400 m from south to north. It is an oval shaped mound with a height of 35 m. The collected potsherds from the surface are dated to EBA, Assyrian Trading Colony Period, IA Hellenistic, Roman and Seljuk Periods. The royal road leading to east lies on the western skirt of the mound. The mound was visited during the survey conducted by Tekocak in 2012. Tekocak stated that the mound is located 1 km south of Kutlu town. He also reported that the height of mound is 25 m. Amorphous potsherds dating from EBA to Roman Period were found on the surface of the mound. No architectural remains or findings were seen on the surface [Tekocak 2015:83]. |
