It is located 1700 m far from Kabatepe Harbour, east of the harbour, Eceabat District of Çanakkale Province. The hill on its north is also known as Çakmak Sirti. Akmak Dere chipped stone workshop and raw material source was discovered during the survey performed by Özbek in 2009. In the researches done in 2010, similar chipped stone tools and their cores and roughouts were encountered on the northeast of Kabatepe Tanitim Merkezi. All these chipped stone tools and roughouts are made of jaspe which are in different colors range from brown, red to black. It has been observed that the rock which is called jaspe / chert was naturally exhumed in the area of 10 hectares. These tools and the flakes don't indicate any particular culture or prehistoric period [Özbek 2012:467].
