| It is located about 2 km north of Yildiran Village, 24 km west of Horasan District of Erzurum Province. It was discovered during the survey performed by Günasdi and his team in 2010. The castle is situated on Kizilkaya hill which is north of Pasinler-Horasan road. The south part of the castle is quite steep and the castle was constructed in accordance with the topography of the hill. It is accessible through on the south side. It is located at a dominating position for the agricultural areas and the natural pathways. Although the fortification walls have been badly damaged, its interior architecture was well preserved. There is a pond on the south of the castle. The collected sherds from the surface are dated to Late Chalcolithic, EBA and IA [Günasdi et al. 2012:54-55]. |
