It is located in Kaynarca Village, 46 km southeast of Horasan District, 1 km northwest of Yukari Kom Kalesi in Erzurum. It was discovered during the survey performed by Günasdi and his team in 2010. It is placed on an important location which controls the natural pathways. The surface of the bedrock has been truncated roughly and the surroundings of the castle were formed with cut-stones, sand stones and limestone which are not specific to the region. Access to the castle was provided by carving the top of the hill which reaches in the north-south direction. While the north part of the castle was used as occupational site, the northeast part was used as necropolis. The collected sherds from the surface are dated to BA, IA and EIA [Günasdi et al. 2012:54].
