The castle has been built on a very steep 250 m high rock rising above Kizilinis Creek. It is an important castle which dominants the region. South part of the castle is flat and the entrance is also in this part. The rock where the castle stands has been truncated to form a plain ground and the beds for foundation of the rampart. Although, a stepped water tunnel was found inside the castle, only the entrance and a few steps could be discovered. The castle shows Urartian characteristics together with its architectural features, the fortification walls built in cyclopean technique found in patches on the southern part, stepped water tunnel and the pottery [Günasdi et al. 2012:51-52].
