It lies on a rocky hill rising immediately above Mendemebasi Village, 40 km northeast of Refahiye District of Erzincan Province. It was discovered during the survey performed by Günasdi and his team in 2010. It is accessible through a pathway with steps which begins from north and reaches towards south. 160 cm wide entrance of the castle is in the southern section. West of the castle is very steep and there are occupational sites contemporary with the castle on the north. The collected sherds from the castle are belonging to IA and Middle Age [Günasdi et al. 2012:50-51].
