It is located immediate south of Sorkun-Bastepe road, west of Sorkun-Kizilca exit, 3 km east of Sorkun, about 2 km north of Kizilca Village in Sandikli District of Afyonkarahisar. It was found during the survey performed by Koçak in 2010. The first examination on the collected material from the surface shows that the settlement could be dated to Chalcolithic. On the other hand, the most apparent material group is EBA and LBA (?) pottery. A few obsidian tools were found among the stone tools. The material dated to Bronze Age has been found mostly on the western part of the mound which is used for farming [Koçak 2012:235]. |
