It is a 8-10 m high flat mound, located on the edge of a wetland to the west of the Basören Village in the Altinyayla District of Sivas. With a well for vegetable garden on the western skirt, and village houses on the slope and hill to the southwest, the eastern slopes and skirts are occupied by arable fields, and soil was removed to a small extent in the areas to the south. Sherds collected from the surface can be dated to the Early Bronze, Late Bronze, and Iron Ages, the Hellenistic-Roman Periods and the Middle Age. Among the surface finds are 2 stone weights, 1 terracotta spindle whorl, 1 fragment of a stone vessel, and 1 grindstone. |
