This site is in the centre of Göztepe (Piran) Village in 17 km South of Bulanık Suburb of Muş City. It is documented during the survey carried out by Biber-Çavuşoğlu in 2009. The mound has an altitude of 1,619 m with a round shape and 230 m diameter. The locals mention the existence of an old church in this area. However only a few walls remained and it is destructed beyond the point that it is possible to sketch a plan. The surrounding areas of the mound are covered and surrounded by modern village houses. Pieces of pottery from EBA, EIA-MIA and MA are found on the surface of the mound [Biber-Çavuşoğlu 2011: 209]. |
