This site is in Örenkent Village Centre on the Western side of the village 9 km South of Bulanık Suburb of Muş City. It is documented during the survey carried out by Biber- Çavuşoğlu in 2009. The site is surrounded and covered by modern village houses. It is on an oval hill in East-West Direction. It looks like the settlement is surrounded by a wall made of stones with no- or half-workmanship, which is preserved up to 2-3 m to date. However since the modern village houses are constructed using the stones of the old settlement and using the same technique, old and new architectures are mixed up. Nowhere in the settlement is a planned architecture encountered. Pottery pieces dated as 1st Millennium BC are found in the field [Biber-Çavuşoğlu 2011: 209]. |
