This site is 14.7 degrees Northwest of North entrance of Eskiören Village of Merkez Suburb of Çorum City. It is documented during the survey carried out by Yıldırım-Sipahi in 2009. A highway passes 70 m South of the mound. The mound is 1.4 km South of Kızılırmak River and in the South of Tuzluburun Locality. Large stones as parts of the architecture and pieces of large jars are observed in the site. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Millennium BC settlements exist on the site. Considering the potteries found, it is understood that Late EBA III Phase was strong on this site. Potteries found in the upper layers suggest inhabitancy during Classic Period. The surface soil of the mound is rocky. A fountain exists in the North with a small creek basin in the West. A rock-elevated land is observed in the Northeast [Yıldırım-Sipahi 2011: 47-48]. |
