This site is a small elevated land within a farm approximately 700 m East of Hacıahmetderesi Village of Merkez Suburb of Çorum City. It is documented during the survey carried out by Yıldırım-Sipahi in 2009. Northwest parts of the raised land are flattened and transformed into a farming land. The site is small and flat. Classic Age potteries are found on the surface. Pieces possibly from 2nd Millennium BC exist on the farmed fields. A difference in altitude is observed when compared with the surrounding farms. The surface soil of the mound contains pebble and stones and the mound is approximately 2 Ğ 3 m higher than the farm. It is believed that there may be a Late Roman Settlement and a cemetery in this field, since potteries from this period are encountered [Yıldırım-Sipahi 2011: 47]. |
