The site is on Dellal Passage 17 km East of Horasan of Erzurum City. It was documented in 2009 during a survey by Y. Topaloğlu. This passage is important since it connects city of Erzurum to city of Ağrı. At the same time it connects Anatolia to Iranian Plateau. The site is also close to Horasan Yazılıtaş Scripture. This rock-stepped water tunnel belongs to Urartian Period and is in the East of Dellal Passage. The rock steps start from the main rocks' upper side and reach down to the water source. The light and air circulation is enabled by little eye slits opened on the main rock [Topaloğlu et al. 2011:4]. |
