This site is located 1-1.5 km Northwest of Karakurt County, Kırkağaç Suburb of Manisa City. It is revisited in 2010 by E. Akdeniz and the cemetery is studied. The locals stated that there were many jar graves unearthed via illicit excavations in this area. This is the reason behind the attention invested on this land. Pieces that belong to pithos graves are encountered on area of 100 by 80 m. The belief is that this land may be the burial place for Akkuş Hill I and II settlements [Akdeniz 2011:87-88]. |
