It is situated on a rocky hill on the left bank of Sarusu Brook, approximately 5 m south of the village bearing the same name, east of Patnos Plain. It was identified by B. Ögün and was dated to Urartu period. It was visited by A. Özfirat et al. in 2007. The fortress has a square plan and measures 68x60 m. The wall thickness is 2 m and, semi-touched stones measuring 2x1.40-1.60 m were used. There is a square planned room measuring 23x21 m inside the external walls at the peak of the fortress. There are architectural remains of which the plans are unidentified which should belong to the settlement on the plain on the east slope of the fortress. The grey-black ware is the most common type of ware of Iron Age near Agri Mountain and environs. Vessels with carination and the fluted vessels and the basic rimmed and fluted short neck jars are the most common forms. Coded M68/5 [Özfırat 2009:349].
