It is situated 30 km southeast of the Meydan motorway; 3 km northeast of the Bagrikurt Village; north of the Selcuklu District and the Konya Province. The mound measures 75x75x30 m. A survey was conducted in 1997 by a team under the direction of H. Bahar on behalf of the University of Selçuk. Potsherds from the Iron Age; Classical and Hellenistic Periods were collected from the surface. Also; there is a tumulus; 50 m south of the mound (see Bagrikurt Tümülüsü). Clinkers remained from metal working were detected on the surface of the mound during the survey carried out by H. Bahar in 2008. It takes place in the registered archaeological sites list prepared by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. |
