Tasdere

It is situated in the Tasdere Village which was formerly known as Sosgert, 35 km east of Arpaçay District in Kars. The Karahan Brook runs north of the fortress. It was surveyed by A. Bingöl et al in 2008. The fortress was built in cyclopean technique using stones,1 m in width, at the peak of a hill that controls the passages in the area. A 4 m long wall is the only remain from the fortress. Based on its 3 m deep cistern, the scaled rock water tunnel in the northwest end and the bowl sherds suggest that the fortress that was built in Cyclopean technique by adapting to the structure of the bedrock, is a typical Urartian Fortress. There is a settlement area 500 m from the fortress which may be related with the fortress. The sherds belong to Early Iron Age, Medium Iron Age and Medieval Age [Bingöl et al. 2010:384].
