It is the land that consists of a hill arising on rocks and the plain behind it, at Balkayasi, near Kizilinis location in Bakimli Village of Tokat. It was surveyed within the scope of Komana Ancient City Archaeological Research Project performed by B. Erciyas and E. Sökmen in 2008. The illicit diggings that took place on the hill, yielded a soil deposit on a deposit of small irregular stones. The stratification is similar to a tumulus. Mortared wall remains are observed below the stone deposit. It seems possible, that these walls belong to a grave room. Iron Age, particularly Phrygian sherds and Hellenistic Period sherds were collected over the hill and the illicitly dug pits [Erciyas-Sökmen 2010:358]. |
