It is situated on an extremely high location on Kartavin Mountain which is the division line between Patnos and Malazgirt in Van. It was surveyed by A. Özfirat in 2008. It has a near-rectangular plan, with 420 m long walls both in the north and south, and 180 m long wall in the east. Wall thickness on the north wall is 3.5 m, and on the south wall it is 2.5 m. North and south walls contain support projections at different lengths. Inside there is a square planned 20x20 m room with 1.5 m thick walls, adjacent to the south walls. It has 2.8 m wide gate on the east wall. There is a cemetery on the west slope of the fortress. Two grave rooms with walls built through stone masonry, were destroyed by illicit diggings. One of these has a rectangular plan that measures 3.20x1.60 m. It was covered using large cover stones, and the only visible cover stone is 2.90x1.50 m. The other grave has a rectangular plan and measures 2.10x1.30 m, its current height is 1 m. The sherds collected here bear the characteristics of both Middle and Late Iron Age. Coded L67/1 [Özfirat 2010:229].
