It is a big mound occupied by the modern settlement of Göksun District; northwest of Kahramanmaras Province. The mound covers an area of approximately 12964 square-meters [Dumankaya et al. 2018: 526] It stands on a natural hill. It measures 12 m in height and 300x150 m in dimensions. The top hill is flat. The ancient city of Cocussos is claimed to be located here. It was discovered by A. Dönmez and W. Brice in 1947 [Dönmez-Brice 1949:50]. In 1962; a surface collection carried out on the mound and its surrounding territory yielded that it is an EBA settlement. Although presence of sherds of the black rimmed ware dating from that period is reported; another surface collection is necessary to verify this information. Additionally, there are cream-coated plain simple ware with exterior-thickened rims the dates to the Early Bronze Age and the beginnings of the Middle Bronze Age. Similar pottery had been found within the region at Boyalġ, Büyükyapalak Büyük, Büyükyapalak Küçük, Büyükyapalak Gök, Çakmaktepe and Çġnarlġ Höyük. In addition, the so-called "Elazig-Malatya Painted Ware" painted with band motifs that are dated to the EBA and gray-faced Hittite Pottery were found at the site [Dumankaya et al. 2018: 526].
