Along with Yukari Mezra Canal the water inside this canal also runs from Çakirbey Brook, which passes through Dereyurt Channel which is approximately 1 km north of Sabanbüken (Kizilkilise) Village on the south skirts of Aladag in Van. The brook flow was blocked by stones to direct the water into two canals in separate directions. The canal heading northwest is 3-3.5 m wide and 1-1.5 m deep. The canal was covered in time by dense vegetation inside and out. It runs southwest of Sabanbüken village, then extends in west direction, and provides the water necessary for Yilanli Village, Yünören Village and İkizçali village fields [Belli 2010:84-85].
