It was surveyed by Ökse et al. within the scope of the 2008 Ilisu Dam Construction Site Survey. Adorned samples were consisting of fragments with dot rows made by jagged decoration technique. Besides Neolithic, there found Middle Bronze Age, Medieval Period and New Age materials [Ökse et al. 2010:341]. In 2009 the mound that Ilısu Village was built on has been transformed into public property completely and the architecture that belongs to a two-layered settlement is excavated in the eight trenches opened in the gardens in the East [Ökse et al. 2011:261]. The upper section of Ilısu Höyük was occupied in 250/300 AD. No earlier occupation was determined in this section. Due to the construction of the body of the dam was initiated, the salvage excavation in Ilısu Mound was finished [Ökse et al. 2014].
