Ganos (Gaziköy) lies 30 km far from the district center of Sarköy on the shore of the Marmara Sea (Propontis) (Xenophon, Anabasis, VII, 5, 8). This site is surveyed during 2009 by Erdem. Ganos is a mound built on top a hill and its skirts; and it is located in a modern village today. A recovery excavation is carried out at this site in 2003 by Tekirdağ Museum. The trenches opened for this purpose are still visible on the acropolis. Various findings -mostly potteries from Hellenistic Period until Byzantium Period- are captured during the excavations which suggest existence of various periods. Stones from partial monumental city walls and terrace walls can be seen on the slopes of the acropolis. Many pieces of pottery and glassware from Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantium Periods are captured on the surface of acropolis and its slopes during the survey [Erdem 2011: 385].
