Located 13 km southwest of the provincial district of Elazig, the mound has characteristics of the Early Bronze Age. It measures 130x120x20 m in dimensions. It had been mainly occupied during the Early Iron Age and Iron Age as well as Early Bronze Age. The northeastern section of the mound has been destroyed during the construction of the Malatya-Elazig railway due to soil removal, which, in turn, exposed remains of a wall made of stones with sizes ranging from 80 to 30cm. Pottery of the Early Bronze Age is wheelmade, well burnished and thick slipped in red brown. Vessels decorated with flutes in parallel from rim to ventral like the ones seen in other Iron Age centers are observed. Also found are samples of decorated vessels with horizontal bands and vertical flutes. It is a very significant Early Iron Age settlement.
