It rests on the west bank of the Tuna River, approximately 4 km north of Edirne. It is known that an amphora was exposed during levelling activities in the sand quarry at Çukurçayir by the municipality workers, and delivered to the Museum of Edirne. With a broken rim, the amphora has a matt tile red and it is a product of Thasos according to the stamp on its handle. It was dated to the 5th to 4th century BC. During his survey in 1995, B. Erdogu observed that the settlement has been entirely destroyed, and collected only a limited number of material dating to the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age as well as Classical Period.
