It is 14 km east of the Alaca District, near the Alaca-Zile motorway. A fertile plain starting from Akören extends until the edge of the mound. Founded on the bank of a stream, the mound measures 18 m in height, and 80 m in diameter. Western section has been destroyed. A milestone from the Classical Age is observed on the eastern pier of the bridge across the stream at the foot of Çöplü Höyük. Among the surface finds are sherds from the Early Bronze, 2nd Millennium BC, Iron Age and Classical Age and later periods.
