It penetrates into the Kirdag Strait like a cape at the mid-section of the Araplar Strait. It is a small ancient city from the Archaic Period on the steep west end of this mount. Only two rows of forticifications survived to the present day. Ceramics dating from the 4th century BC to the Roman Period were collected from the skirts of the settlement [Akarca 1978:52].
