The Çeribasi Village is located in a plain, which is 2 km north of the Enez-Kesan motorway, 23 km from Enez. There is a bridge with piers dating to the Ancient Age, crossing over the stream to the west of the village. Rock graves were found on the rocky hills lying 2 km north of the village. A large-size grave locally known as "Firinkaya" stands on one of the rocks. S. Basaran reported that they found evidence proving that the rock approximately 600 m southwest of Firinkaya was used as a stone quarry during the ancient period. Remains of a tower, which functioned like a outpost on the southern section of the above mentioned rock. Basaran indicates that these remains may have belonged to a village or a farm. |
