It was discovered during a survey on the "Turkish Fortresses" conducted in 1995 by I.H. Kurtulus in the Thrace Region. It is located at Burunucu Mevkii in the Demircihalil Village, north of Kirklareli. Resting on a high hill, the fortress was fortified on the west, north and east sides. It has been surrounded by other hills on four sides. Only wall remains are on the southern and souteastern sections. The walls have been demolished and spreaded. To the northwest are traces of stairways leading down to the river, carved into the rock, and mostly damaged. It was reported that the ruins belong to a Thracian fortress. |
