It was founded on a natural hill, 3 km northeast of the Çökören Village, 29 km northeast of the Polatli District as the crow flies in Ankara. It was discovered in 1994 during the surveys in Central Anatolia conducted under the direction of S. Omura. It measures 53 m long in the east-west direction, and 97 m long in the north-south direction with a height of 11 m. Sherds collected from the surface are dated to the Iron Age. Particulary found are typical Phrygian pottery with grey slip. |
