It is located at the 5th km of the Milas-Ören motorway. The ruins of Beçin include a fortress rising on a rounded and steep rock at the edge of the plateau, and an area to the south enclosed by 1.5 m thick walls. Excavations launched by R.O. Arik were carried out until 1985. After a 10 year break excavations started again in 1995 under the directory of R.H. Ünal. Ünal excavated the site until 2009. Since 2010, a team led by K. Pektas has been excavating at Beçin Kalesi. C. Özgünel dated ceramics such as skyphos, kotyle, and amphoriskos recovered from the Grave A at Beçin to 730-680 BC [Özgünel 2006: 41].
