It rests on a 2204 m high hill, which lies between the Damlica and Basköy Villages in the Çildir District of Ardahan, and being surrounded by a watercourse, flowing down a steep rock to the south, and a village road to the north. The northern fortifications can be easily traced due to its cyclopic construction technique while other fortifications can not be identified as they collapsed to a great extent, and collapsed walls are now in a pile of stones. Based on the masonry of the northern fortifications and ceramic data, it appears to be an Iron Age fortress. |
