It is located on the Elazig-Bingöl motorway, 500 m north of the Arapusagi Village in Elazig. Delimited by a stream to the east, and projecting like an outcrop to the south, the settlement, which measures 35x70 m in dimensions, rests on a natural conglomerate rock with very steep southern and western skirts. A lof sherds from the Early and Middle Iron Age are found on the less steep eastern skirts of the Barsikkale settlement. Such vessels have an exterior surface in red buff color, thickly slipped and burnished. It appears that Barsikkale had been occupied since the Early Bronze Age, most intensely during the Middle Age.
