It is a monumental Phyrgian rock tomb rising on a rocky slope on the western bank of the Koca Stream, 1 km southwest of the Gökbahce Village in the Seyitgazi District of Eskisehir. The slope is reached 500 m after following the pathway along the stream. It was discovered in 1837 by J. Steuart, and roughly delineated. It was named after Bahsayis, the former name of the Gökbahçe Village. It is locally called Yazilikaya or Bahsis Çesmesi. It faces the east. It measures 5.3 m in height, 3.45 m in width, and the height above the road level is 12.6 m. The tuff mass on which the monument rises measures 5.3x3.42x3.8 m in dimensions. With a slightly projecting gable roof and lateral walls, it has a three-dimensional frontal view. The decorations particularly on the lower parts of the façade wall and the floor of the gateway have been substantially eroded. Furthermore, deep cracks starting from the bedrock on the northern and southern lateral surfaces also continue on the façade, almost dividing the monument horizontally into two. The monument is, also, under a serious threat of the flood waters running down the slope during the rainy seasons. Moderately inclining gable roof appears three dimensional (3.8x4.1x1.6 m). It projects outward in grades, covering the structure from three sides under its eaves. A deep rectangular well was opened at the center of the roof ridge. The front façade has a triangular pediment without acroterion. The façade wall measures 3.43x3.42 m in dimensions. It is mainly pierced by a gateway (2.03x1.51x0.6 m), placed 0.1 m inwards, and a niche behind it. The deep gateway, which reinforces the three-dimensional view of the monument, represents main entrance of a building. The frame enclosing it was decorated with a series of ornaments consisting of square panels. A clean hole with a diameter of 0.43 m was opened in the middle of the rear wall of thic niche. This 0.52 m deep hole communicates with the well behind, which has a dimension of 1.2x0.7 m with a depth of 4.5 m. It is located on the same axis with the niche.
