It is a conic mound resting on a natural elevation, 1.5 km immediate west of the Bagici Village, around 30 km south of the Gölbasi District. It is locally called Gavurkalesi, housing architectural remains and stone blocks. Traces of illicit diggings are observed everywhere. It measures 85 m long in north-west, and 11 m long in east-west directions with an approximate height of 4 m. It was discovered during the Central Anatolian Surveys conducted by S. Omura in 1993. Sherds collected from the surface belong to the Iron Age, Byzantine and Islamic Periods. |
