Akören Village, which is 45 km far from Bogazköy as the crow flies, lies 12 km southwest of the Alaca District. Located on a considerably fertile plain, to the north of this village lies the Baginardi Mound. It measures 10 m in height, and the long axis is 100 m. While no systematic survey could have been conducted due to plantation, among the limited number of sherds collected are sherds from the 2nd Millennium BC, Iron Age and Classical Age. Furthermore, many architectural artifacts and grave stones from the Classical Age were observed inside and around the village.
