The fortified settlement at the Bademgedigi Hill, which was a significant Arzawa town during the Late Bronze Age around Metropolis, had also been inhabited between the Geometric and Archaic Periods during the Ionian colonization [Meriç 2003:37]. We know that the settlement was fortified between the 8th and 6th centuries BC [Meriç 2003:111]. Surveys conducted on the Bademgedigi Hill in 2004 yielded remains of four building levels. The first building level belongs to the Late Geometric and Sub-Geometric Periods [Meriç et al. 2006: 250]. |
