It is located at the exit of the Avdalaz Valley, northwest of the Ayazini Town. It was mainly used during the Byzantine Period. There are multi-layer rock structures which communicate with each other by stairs as carved into volcanic tuff mass. To the north is a closed and stepped tunnel or a cistern, which indicate occupation during the Phyrgian Period. The fortress rises at the center of a Phyrgian settlements spreaded onto an open area. Many Phrygian sherds are observed in the vicinity of the fortress. Also found is a small Phyrgian rock grave on a rock mass located nearby. |
