It lies 2 km southeast of the Asikhuseyin Village, 32 km south of the Tuzluca District in Igdir. It is 1950 m high above the sea level. The residential structures, fortresses, graves and monumental rock signs around the reservoir indicate the presence of a dense occupation during the Urartu Period. The water of the reservoir was conveyed via a channel from the Arslanli Stream, which is only a few kilometers to the south. A soil layer conveyed by the waters for a long period of time silted up the channel and the reservoir. With an oval plan, the reservoir measures 52x71 m in dimensions. The reservoir's wall is 2 m wide with a height ranging from 1.5 to 2 m, but it seems that it was higher than 2 m when first built. The water discharged from the southern part of the reservoir used to meet requirements for fields and vegetable gardens. At present, it has no water. The Asikhuseyin reservoir and the Upper and Lower Asikhuseyin Fortresses in the neighbourhood are dated to the 7th century BC based on both ceramic and architectural finds.
