It lies 1.5 km south of the Lower Adir Dam and 2 km east of the Esenpinar (Noravanis) Village of the Merkez District in Van. The water of the dam is formed by snow and rain waters running from high hills, combining with many spring waters. The wall was built to the northeast, the open section of the reservoir. However, the thick layer of earth conveyed by rain, snow and flood waters silted up entirely both the reservoir and the walls. Some of the water accumulating in the dam was discharged to the Upper Adir Dam to the west while some to the Lower Adir Dam to the north through a channel opened into the soil. At present, channels are also silted up. The interior of the dam now looks like a swamp. Structurally, it bears Urartian features.
