| In the beginning, serving as the capital of the local Kaeni tribe, Aproi (Kermeyan) [Sevin 2001a:25] became a colony with veterans, who were settled here during the Roman Empire Cladius, and it was called Colonia Claudia Aprensis. Fortification remains of the ancient city of Aproi and a Thracian tumulus near Aproi were noticed during the Epigraphical Studies in Thrace conducted by Z. Tasliklioglu. |
