S. Eyice and his team collected a group of sherds on the surface of a mound called Ali Tepesi to the south of Karapinar, and these sherds were analysed by U.B. Alkim and M. Darga. Based on this analysis, it was concluded that the sherds collected from the mound are Alisar III type of ware from the Early Bronze Age, and Alisar IV type of ware from the Iron Age. It was visited and surveyed in 2003 during the Survey in the Konya and Karaman Provinces conducted under the direction of H. Bahar, and sherds from the EBA, LBA, Middle and Late Iron Age, Hellenistic and Roman Periods were collected from the surface.
