It lies within the borders of the Özkonak Town of the Avanos District in Nevsehir, and it is accesible through a 4 km pathway following the asphalt road to the northwest of the town. The mound Aleyli covers a vast area, giving an impression as if it consists of a few mounds which were combined together. A stream flows right across the mound. A 1 km to the north rests a rock grave. It was discovered during the Survey in the Nevsehir, Nigde and Aksaray Provinces conducted under the direction of H. Sever in 1990. Sherds indicate presence of the EBA, Hittite, Phyrgian and Classical Period settlements. |
