It lies 4 km west-southwest of the Hacilar Village in the Çubuk District of Ankara. At present, the hilltop is accessible from the valley to the east through the Hacilar Village by approaching from the northern section of the fortress, which rests on a hill in the northeast-southwest direction in accordance with the topography of the land, and measures 320x75 m in dimensions. A two-third of the interior part of the citadel is rocky. The main settled area lies to the north, covered with less rocks. The fortifications enclosing the fortress can be traced with no interruption. They do not have the same level all around the fortress. The height of the wall reaches up to 3.5 m with a thickness of 2.6 m. The sherds on the surface are from the Hittite Imperial Period, Early Iron Age and Byzantine Period.
