It lies 500 m west of the Adahisar Village. It is 118 m high above the plain level, founded on a wide and plain ground on the summit of a natural hill. It measures 250x75 m in dimensions. The fortress is accessible by climbing from the south. A city wall in an oval plan notable from the road encloses the fortress. There is a 2-2.5 m thick main wall which was erected with mid-size stones in a dry stack mortarless block system. The main wall has been preserved up to a height of 1-1.5 m on the northern and eastern sections. Some remains of 50-80 cm thick walls belonging to several buildings are observed at different places within the fortress. Also found are terrace walls, built in steps on the southern slope outside the fortifications. Particularly this section yielded many sherds of the Phrygian grey ware. With a strategical location overlooking the large plain and the roads around it, the Adahisar Fortress should have been a significant Phyrgian settlement during the first half of the 1st Millennium BC. The sherds from the Classical and Roman Periods collected from the surface in the fortress indicate that it had been inhabited for a long period of time.
