It lies on the slope of a hill to the west of the Sagliksuyu Village in the Dogubeyazit District of Agri. The graves which were built adjacent to each other at frequent intervals have been all destroyed due to illicit diggings. The masonry over the single graves, which were built with semi-dressed small stones are indistinct. Although a few sherds belong to the Urartian Period, the architectural features of the graves indicate a later period. Because of the Middle Age settlement in the village, the Subasi Necropolis may have been dated to the Middle Age. A few Urartian sherds found here may have belonged an underlying settlement or a necropolis. |
