It is situated on a rocky hill with a very steep northern slope on the northern skirts of the Mount Nemrut to the west of Ovakisla in the Ahlat District of Bitlis. It measures ca. 173x115 m in dimensions with an oval plan. It has two entrances, the west and the east. The defence walls built with somewhat large stones are 2.5-3 m high. Presence of large buildings with unidentifiable plans is observed inside the fortress. No sherds are available due to rocky land and ruins of stone buildings. Based on the architectural features, it seems to have been built prior to the Urartian Period.
